no foolin’ around

I have collected a few interesting sights that I wanted to share on this April 1.

This fellow here attached a veritable castle to his – otherwise ordinary –  bungalow.

Please take note of the cannon, the draw bridge, flag poles and the turrets. Oddly enough, there is also a monkey tail tree, flying geese and a 19th century gas lamp.

This particular house below was built by my former English teacher, has been around for a while and is actually quite well known throughout architectural circles.

The scales on the round part of the house used to be painted in rainbow colors but seem to have faded quite a bit.  Also – there is a person coming through the wall next to the big window – you can see the hand and leg emerging.

I had to share this as well:

This is a cigarette vending machine on the street.  Smoking is legal in Germany for ages 16 and up.  I’ve always wondered about these machines and how anyone can buy a pack of cigarettes.  Well, now you have to swipe your ID through the slot above.  I guess that helps to control the buying a bit.

However, you have to come up with approx. $9 per pack.
